Palestinian-American Adolescent Freed Following Nine Months in Israel's Custody

An American-Palestinian adolescent who spent nine months in imprisonment by Israel absent formal charges gained freedom.
Mohammed Ibrahim was 15 when he was arrested in February throughout the West Bank territory, while he was vacationing from his Florida home accused of stone-throwing against settlement residents, allegations he repeatedly contested.
The US state department said it welcomed Mohammed's liberation.
Now sixteen years old, required hospitalization upon gaining freedom, according to close relatives.
Family described him as showing signs of malnutrition, and experiencing medical problems developed during imprisonment.
Via family representatives, family spokesperson spoke of the family's "immense relief".
Family member Zeyad Kadur said the family had been "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" throughout the past nine months.
"Right now, we're concentrating on ensuring Mohammed receives prompt healthcare he needs after being subjected to harsh conditions and brutal treatment throughout his detention."
American authorities stated they would maintain to provide consular support for the Ibrahim family.

A group of American legislators submitted a formal letter to the state department and President Donald Trump, urging greater action to secure his release.
Mohammed's parent, a father-of-four who runs an ice cream business in Florida, previously said Mohammed acknowledged allegations to throwing stones after being assaulted by soldiers.
The father hadn't visited or spoken to Mohammed following the detention, learning information solely regarding the treatment via legal paperwork.
He stayed lacking indictment in Ofer prison throughout the occupied territory.
Additionally housing grown detainees, some of whom have been convicted regarding severe security violations and homicide.
Approximately 350 Palestinian child security detainees detained within Israeli facilities, per correctional service statistics.
Several lack formal charges while advocacy organizations, including UN bodies, say some have suffered physical abuse and torture.
Following Mohammed's release, the uncle stated relatives would persist in advocating demanding accountability for their family member Sayfollah Musallet.
The 20-year-old dual US citizen per medical officials died from beating by settlement residents following tensions during summer.

Mohammed and Sayfollah collaborated at their family's ice cream business from Tampa.
No charges have been filed regarding Sayfollah's death.
"We anticipate US authorities to ensure our family's safety," Mr Kadur said.
